Part of the Champagne-Ardenne region, Troyes describes itself as ‘the city in the form of a champagne cork’ – a statement that’s proved by an aerial tour of the city. But if there’s little time or inclination for a sky high excursion, there’s plenty to occupy you on firm ground, including the Cathedrale St. Pierre where Joan of Arc prayed before heading into battle. The street food movement has arrived in Troyes in the form of a double decker bus venture, Claire et Hugo, which sells homemade burgers and macaroons. This quaint town combines the old world allure and  the modern day attractions that appeal to all.
