Recently hired a car from AVIS in Cyprus. Turned up at the office only to be told AVIS didnt have a car for us even though we had a confirmed prepaid booking. Eventually AVIS delivered a car to us 2 days late but with 4 bald tyres. They took the car away to replace them but only replaced the 2 on the front even though all the tyres were below the tyre tread marker. The car also had cigarette burns in the seats, scratched and dented panel that were noted by the AVIS rep on delivery. The windscreen washers didnt work and the aerial was repaired with Sellotape.
I have requested a full refund from AVIS

Avis really does need to try harder, having been let down by Avis not supplying a car booked and paid for, I incurred additional costs and loss of income because of Avis’s fault. All I want now is your address to file legal papers on, but Avis is not forthcoming with info and does Customers (doesnot) Care Department fails to reply to emails.

Very diasappointed with Avis UK, the worst rental company in UK for customer care, in my opinion.

    Hi Ian,
    Thanks for getting in touch.

I’m really sorry to hear you have had a poor experience with Avis.

I understand from our customer service team that you have been contacted on this matter so I hope it has been resolved to your expectations.

If not, and there is still an outstanding query, please email me at comments@avis.co.uk and I will do my best to help.

On September 6th I wrote a letter of complaint to Avis regarding a discrepancy in the refuelling costs taken from my credit card following a rental return at Toulouse Airport whcih did not match the invoice we had been given. I have yet to receive a proper explanation despite several follow up emails. Our experience of the pick up was also very poor, car did not match description on agreement, was covered in multiple scratches, had two baby seats dumped in back (we had not requested either) and the agent onsite was surly and very unhelpful. I have yet to see any evidence of Avis trying harder

I’m sorry you’ve not received any feedback from our customer service department on the complaint you’ve raised. I have asked one of our senior customer service agents to contact you so we can resolve your outstanding issue.
