Last week a customer (Robert) asked if we could publish a
blog post that would essentially be used as a thread to feedback on
our UK fleet. It’s a great idea and I thought this blog post could be
used as that thread. When posting your comments just please bear in mind
that the market is very tough at the moment, which has affected the
available supply and pushed our costs up. So while your feedback is
important to us, we also need to be pragmatic about how much action we
can take from this.

And to give you something to feedback on, here is a list of the current
fleet (I’ve only included those that we have the most fleet of in each
category). I look forward to reading your comments!…

    Hi Rob,
Many thanks for listening to my feedback and posting this.
There are a few different posts discussing a specific part of the fleet i.e. Select series, Convertibles, specific cars (like the Smart, Fiat 500 etc) but not one dedicate post where we can ask any questions in regards to the entire fleet, and so this is great!

My first thoughts are really regarding the select series which is looking a little sad these days, but then taking on board your comments above about the tough times etc, I guess that is all part of it.
Hopefully things will improve and we will see a more interesting fleet again soon.

    Many thanks and regards,
    Robert

  2. Rob White- Marketing, Avis UK Says:

Thanks for all the feedback, Robert. We are very keen to enrich the Select Series fleet and will pursue every opportunity to do so! We’ll keep you updated.

As always, keep the feedback coming!

  3. Robert Says:

I’ve just been on the website looking to hire a car from Heathrow later this month, and was only offered two options in the select series, a Golf or a manual A4.
So I decided to look forward and check various dates in the future to see if these are really the only two option left in the Select series, or whether I was just out of luck on the dates I wanted, and indeed these were indeed the only two options left and I checked every month a year ahead…
Anyway, thought I would check if this was just LHR, so I looked at Gatwick as well and to my surprise I was offered a whole lot more options (depending on the dates of course) and the option in the select series included the 207cc, Audi A6, C class and A4 Estates, plus (and this was the biggest surprise) the A4 2.0 Auto! (New shape) Now, I might be wrong, but I thought they no longer existed on the fleet???
What I am most surprised about though is that for some reason your Select offering at LHR is now extremely poor regardless of time of year and you are offering just 2 option (and probably two of the more boring option in the Select series as well) while LGW has a much larger selection.
I would have thought that the type of potential traffic coming through LHR (more premium travel) would warrant a larger and better selection at LHR rather than LGW.

Of course you guys have the figures, so I might be very wrong…

    Regards

    Robert

  4. Rob White- Marketing, Avis UK Says:

Hi Robert, I got your email. Apologies for the late response! Unfortunately, you’ve spotted an error where LGW was displaying discontinued fleet. We’ve removed these now and are checking for any bookings made on these car categories at LGW.

The sad reality, as you point out, is that the Select Series fleet is looking a little thin at the moment. We’ve had some issues with sourcing the right cars over the past year but I can assure you that developing the product remains a priority for us.

  5. Rob White- Marketing, Avis UK Says:

btw – I should note that we have BMWs back! :)

  6. Robert Says:

Excellent news about the BMW’s Rob.
Would that be the 3 and 5 series?

  7. Rob White- Marketing, Avis UK Says:

    Both! :)

For some reason I can’t seem to pull up any availability on .co.uk but they are there. Our pricing team have promised they’ll fix the issue this morning.

I have a Audi A4 select series booked for period 10-17 Sep from LHR. Can I change to BMW 3 Series from.

  9. Chris Cox - Reservations, Avis UK Says:

    Hi

Looking at the system today the BMW is available for those dates. I’d recommend modifying the reservation as soon as possible though to guarantee the car and minimise the price difference. You can either do it online at avis.co.uk or through reservations on 08445 818181.

    I hope that helps!
    Chris

  10. JR Says:

away from this stuff about Select cars!! – booked a car in Bratislava -Skoda Fabia – impeccable service; speedy, friendly, all I could want from a hire car firm in and out. And as a Fabia driver I find it very select!!

  11. Vicky Blake Says:

I have just tried to book a small automatic via the BA/Avis dedicated line (not a pleasant experience). However the outcome was the only automatic available to collect from Rome (Fuimicino) in June 2010 was a BMW. Why do car hire companies think you want a large car to drive in Italian hill towns?

I checked the website and the Nissan automatic (Group J) that we have for this September doesn’t appear either in Pisa or Rome next year.

Does this mean that you are no longer offering this car or,as happened this year, it will suddenly appear nearer the time?

  12. Chris Cox - Reservations, Avis UK Says:

    Hi Vicky,

I’ve checked with the Italian team and they have said that as the reservation is so far in the future the groups and prices won’t have been loaded properly yet. The fleet is normally changed every 6 months and often groups are changed depending upon their success over the past rental year. They recommended waiting a while until the groups have been decided and loaded.
    I hope that helps

    Chris

  13. Linda Says:

I think you need to review your booking system, when I telephoned your new reservations number I was on hold for an hour. Not good service for your account customers !!!

  14. Richard Anstey Says:

    I am most frustrated.
I am based in Australia I travel to the UK regularly.
I hire my cars from Avis and have a Wizard membership number.
I have been trying to get a quote for over 2 weeks.
I have tried online – exceeds 28 days
I have sent requests through the email service
I have called the UK call centre – lengthy queues
This certainly discourages me from hiring from Avis UK again
I want a quote for November and December for 37 days and I want Avis Select to ensure i hire the car of my choice.
Would someone make contact through my email address.
    Thank You

  15. Chris Cox - Reservations, Avis UK Says:

    Hi Richard,

We are currently in peak season and are experiencing a much higher than anticipated call volume which has meant slightly longer queuing times upon calling. The much higher number of email requests has also meant the same delay.
If you can send through the exact details of your required rental, including your Preferred number, required car choice, place, dates and times of pick up/drop off then I’ll get someone to send you the quote details.
    Chris

  16. Chris Cox - Reservations, Avis UK Says:

    Hi Linda,

Could you tell me the number you were trying to call please so we can
    check the line?
Currently we are in peak season and are experiencing a much higher call volume than originally anticipated. This obviously has a large impact on the waiting time when calling.
If you would prefer to email your requirements to uk.reservations@bcn.avis-europe.com then I’ll get someone to follow up via email.

    Chris

  17. Robert Says:

    Hi,

Are there any new shape Golf’s in the Select series, or are they all still the old shape?
And are they still a mix of diesels and petrols?
In regards to the 3 series, I understand they are a mix of 320d’s and 318′d are the specs the same, or are they also a mix of say M Sport, SE’s etc?

    Cheers,
    Robert

  18. Robert Says:

    Hi again,

I have asked this in the past but never really got an answer…
A lot (in fact most) of the Prestige fleet have no details in regards to what model is being offered, which is a bit strange as if I am spending a substantial amount of money of renting from this fleet I would like to know what I’m renting.

Could someone please let me know what models (i.e. engine, spec) the following prestige fleet cars come in?

    Audi A5 (Auto)

    A4 convertible

    BMW 3 series

    Jaguar XF

Merc C class (also in regards to this, the picture of the C class in the prestige fleet shows the old model, so confirmation whether it’s the new or old model would be nice…)

    Many thanks!

    Robert

  19. Rob White- Marketing, Avis UK Says:

    Hi Robert,

Some answers to your questions around Select Series…

    1. The Golfs are the old shape. We do have the new one on order but this has been delayed due to some issues with the manufacture of them
    2. The Golfs are a mix of petrol and diesel but predominantly diesel
    3. There are some 3 Series SE but the majority of them are M Sports.

As for your questions around Prestige, I am just waiting for an answer from the team but I’ll let you know as soon as I hear back from them!

    Rob

  20. Rob White- Marketing, Avis UK Says:

Right, Prestige, they’ve suggested that it would be best to speak to you directly to give you all the lowdown and make sure they answer all of your questions. Their number is 020 7591 0444. Otherwise, if you can email me your number I can get them to give you a call.

I know you’ve fed back before about the lack of info on their website. The positive thing is that your feedback has been taken into account! As long as all things go to plan, the new Prestige website should be launched within the next 6 weeks and it incorporates a much greater amount of information about their fleet!

    Rob

  21. Robert Says:

    Thanks Rob!

That’s excellent news about the new Prestige website.

    Regards,

    Robert

  22. Robert Says:

Well I Spoke to them, (guy I spoke to was not the friendliest…)
Anyway, I read through a list of cars, only for him to tell me that half of them are no longer available on the fleet…
Well why are they still on the website then???

In regards to the C class, it is the same model offered on the normal fleet (180 Elegance) and so not much point booking it through prestige when it is much cheaper booking it through the normal fleet is there?
I thought it would be a better model.

I guess the new website will be a little more up to date in regards to what and what isn’t available as well.

    Cheers

    Robert

  23. Rob White- Marketing, Avis UK Says:

Hmmmm… thanks for the feedback Robert. I’ll get straight on to the guys at Prestige about it.

    Rob

  24. Richard Anstey Says:

    Rob..
you seem to be attacking the backlog with enthusiasm.
I am still waiting to find out how to get an email quote or a SELECT range car for a period of 37 days ..have been trying blog/email and call centre for 3 weeks and still have no quote unless i tag together a 28 day quote and a 9 day quote ..is that how you suggest i do it !
its pickup and drop off at Heathrow
    i can understand u r busy..but 3 WEEKS !
    Richard – Australia

  25. Rob White- Marketing, Avis UK Says:

Hi Richard, I am very sorry you have not we’ve not got back to you on. I was just reading back through the comments to see what happened with your one. I noticed that Chris from our reservation team did respond to you asking for more information but neglected to give you an email address. It might be best if I got him to email you directly on this one. Hopefully he’ll be in touch with you today (if not tomorrow morning – he is usually very quick!).

    Rob

  26. Richard Anstey Says:

    Thanks Rob
Very pleased to hear from you.
Happy to wait until I get an email from Chris

  27. Robert Says:

    Hi Rob,

Following my earlier questions regarding the 3 series, what is the story with the 5?

Are they all 520d’s? And what spec are they?

    Cheers,

    Robert

  28. Rob White- Marketing, Avis UK Says:

They’re all 520d SE autos. That’s the topline spec stuff. Do you need any more detail on them?

    Rob

    PS – I hope I’m a bit quicker again these days :)

  29. Robert Says:

    Hi Rob,

Less than an hour, that’s very good, I’m impressed, keep up the good work :-)

Actually the SE is not top spec, that would be the M-Sport (similar to the 3 series), but the SE would give a nicer ride due to the softer suspension.

    Cheers,

    Robert

  30. Rob White- Marketing, Avis UK Says:

Sorry Robert, when I said “topline spec stuff” I meant it in the context that’s the topline facts about the spec rather than info about upholstery, gadgets, alloys, etc! I wouldn’t even bother stating whether I thought it was the top spec because I would know that you would already know anyway!

  31. Anish Satish Says:

    Hi,

I am looking for a job and am looking for your call centre locations in the UK.

    Could you please help?

  32. Vicki Wilson - Marketing, Avis UK Says:

    Hi Anish,

I’m afraid we don’t have a call centre in the UK.

But if you’d like to find out about current vacancies at Avis please visit http://www.aviscareers.co.uk/index.asp

  33. Leon Says:

    Hi Rob,
We are 4 adult men planning a golfing holiday in Scotland. Obviously we will be bringing our golf bags along as well as bags that will contain all our clothing needs for a fortnight. We would be limited in weight for the bags, since we will be flying in from South africa to Edinburgh. Could you possibly advise us on what type of car we should be renting to travel in reasonable comfort.

  34. Chris Cox - Reservations, Avis UK Says:

    Hi Leon,

It will obviously greatly depend upon the amount of luggage you’ll have. Our large Station Wagon group e.g. VW Passat should be OK as it’d have space for the golf clubs and suitcases but would depend upon the size of the suitcases. Why don’t you have a look online at avis.co.uk to get a rough idea of the vehicles we offer?
Personally I think the station wagon would be fine however you may feel something like our medium size people carrier e.g. Vauxhall Zafira would suffice.
    I hope that helps
    Chris

  35. Robert Says:

    Hi,

Picking up a 5 series from the Heathrow office yesterday I noticed something interesting.
All the BMW’s seem to be on 58 plates, (well the few I saw in the parking lot plus all the ones I have hired in the past few months have been) yet I am pretty sure the 5 and 3 series were not introduce to the select fleet until sometime in summer 2009 so my question is, are cars you get not always brand new?
I also noticed some Fiat Brava’s in the parking lot on 57 plates which would mean (if purchased new) would now be over 2 years old, and I very much doubt you keep your cars that long, unless things are even worse than I thought in the industry…

Would love to get some feedback on this…

    Thanks and regards,

    Robert

  36. Harleen Bahra- Fleet, Avis UK Says:

    Hi Robert

Thanks for the post and sorry for the delayed response. For ease I’ll break it in to the points you raised:

BMW’s – These have been part of our fleet since Nov/Dec 2008 (these were new cars upon fleeting). Initially these were ring-fenced for one of our large accounts, however we were able to release some of these vehicles onto Select Series fleet several months later. Hence the e-shot you received.

Fiats – The Fiats were registered in 2007/2008 by Fiat due to the economic circumstances. Although they carry 57-58 plates, these are recent additions to our fleet and were all brand new at the time of fleeting. The life-span of these will remain in line with the rest of our fleet.

I hope that helps, but if you have any other questions please let me know.

    Harleen

  37. Robert Says:

    Question about Avis Prestige…

Why are there still cars on there that have not been available for a very long time now on the fleet?

Also, when can we expect a new Prestige website?

  38. Chris - Avis Prestige Says:

    Hi Robert,

The majority of vehicles on the current website are on our fleet, whether based in London or Manchester. In some cases we have vehicles on “long term” hires and therefore the specific vehicle may be unavailable for a period of time. If this case should arise then we will always offer our customers and alternative option. It is not our intention to mislead customers. We have been experiencing a problem with the supply of some specific models and these will be addressed on our new site.

We pride ourselves in offering a wide selection of Prestige vehicles and will be enhancing our fleet in 2010.

Look out for the launch of our new look site early in January!

    Chris

  39. Robert Says:

    Thanks for the Chris.

It’s just that on three separate occasions in the past couple of month I’ve been turned down when requesting a specific car from the prestige fleet.
On one occasion I gave 3-4 different options and was told none are available and 2 are no longer on the fleet though they still appear on the website (the A4 convertible was one of them).

So unfortunately, despite wanting to spend some money with Avis prestige lately, I was unable.

Look forward to the new website!

    Regards,

    Robert

  40. Robert Says:

Looking at booking my next couple of rentals from LHR I noticed some changes with the Select series as well as some new additions to the fleet, and some strange pricing…

Have the 3 and 5 series BM’s now been removed from the Select series and available for rent through the normal booking classes?
The 520d is now showing as an alternative to the E class, in the Large : Premium class (rather than under Select) and the 3 series under Large Full Size Auto together with the C Class and -what seems to be a new addition to the fleet- the A4 1.8T Auto (?)

I also noticed you have added the S Max (both Manual and Auto) to the fleet which is great (brilliant people carrier).

To be honest, looking at various date ranges and price between Jan- April your current pricing structure is really a little bizarre to be honest.
I realise pricing is based on supply and demand and various other factors, but why would you consistently charge less for Large: Standard (i.e. Passat) Automatic then for a Large: Standard Manual (Passat)???
But then you charge double no less for an Automatic people carrier (i.e. Smax) over the Manual one…

Then you have the Select series which if you ask me at its current set up is a little pointless…
At LHR is seems only the A4 Manual (which can also be found under then normal Large: Standard group) and Golf remain in the Select series for 2010 (at the moment anyway…) but why would I want to pay extra for a Select series Golf over the Low emission group one? They are both guaranteed to be Golfs and the Low emission one is guaranteed to be a new shape Golf too, while you still have old shape Golfs on the Select series.

Then we have the A4 Manual, why would I choose it when you charge less for a large full size Automatic guaranteed to be a C class, BMW 3 series, or an A4?

Now, I’m not saying all this to encourage you to go an increase prices.
I just want to try and make some sense into this…

  41. Robert Says:

    Hi,

As I took the time to write the post above, and it has been almost 3 weeks since I did write it, any chance of getting some input/feedback from one of the Avis people here???

Sorry guys, you know I have supported you from day one, and often refer people to the blog, but it is fast becoming a bit boring when the only issues that seem to get any sort of response are problems people had with their rentals…

    Robert

  42. Vicki Wilson - Marketing, Avis UK Says:

    Hi Robert,

Thanks for posting your comment and I apologise for the delayed response.

As you’ve raised a number of points I’ll deal with them in turn!

As we have mentioned before in ‘Our Pricing Explained’ blog posts, we follow a similar principle to that of airlines. The price is driven by the number of people who want to rent a car, versus the availability of those cars. So, when there is reduced supply (which is normally closer to the date of pick-up), the price will increase for the remaining demand. This means that booking close to the pick up date is likely to be more expensive than booking further in advance.

In regards to the pricing of our automatic car versus our manuals, we have smaller percentage of automatics on our fleet, compared to manuals. This is due to purchasing constraints, as manufacturers are only prepared to provide us with a small number of these. As such, they charge us more for purchasing automatics than purchasing manuals, when compared to the “retail” cost to a regular customer (buying one car at a time). Due to this, we unfortunately have to charge a higher price on these cars to ensure we are able to cover our purchasing costs. So, as a general rule, our automatic cars rates are higher than their manual equivalent, however due demand of manuals exceeding the supply in December the price of the manaul cars was increased at some locations, pushing it higher than the automatics.

We are looking to refresh our Select Series later this year and in the interim we will continue to offer the VW Golf on Select Series as well as within Avis ECO. The emission and fuel type guarantee being particular features of Avis ECO that are not the same within Select Series.

You do however make a very good point with regard to our pricing structure and we are now working to address this.

With the point you raise around the Audi A4 manual, when you reserve this car make and model we are guaranteeing you the A4. With the “Large-sized Automatics” car group, we cannot guarantee the make or model in the same way and, as such, don’t want to price these groups higher than the Select Series car group, given the uncertainty of the exact make of vehicle we will be able to provide you with.

I hope this answers all of your questions. If you have any other questions or if any of this is unclear please let me know.

    Vicki

  43. John Porter Says:

Interesting to see a direct link to marketing for Avis, certainly helpful for those of us overseas who cannot always find what we need on the website.

Auto accidents are almost a likely occurrence w/vistors driving, but the narrow roads tend to defer consideration of renting a full size car while a compact seems a more likely choice to get hurt in if there is an accident.

An Intermediate like the Ford Mondeo seems the best of all alternatives, but automatics can only be rented online for Compacts like the Vauxhall Astra and Full Size like the Opel Vectra. This implies that Intermediates are less than popular.

Is this a quirk of the American website or does Avis UK only have automatics for small and large cars?

    Thanks

  45. Jane Hulme - Marketing, Avis UK Says:

    Hi John,

    Thanks for your comment.

We group our vehicles roughly into small, medium and large. We offer automatics in the medium and large categories as follows:

Medium – Peugeot 308/Ford Focus or equivalent Large – Ford Insignia/ VW Passat or equivalent

Also grouped under large there are specialist automatic vehicles including the Mercedes C180 and E220, the BMW 5 Series and the Ford Galaxy automatic MPV seating up to 7 people.

Availability can vary by pick up date and location but the standard vehicles should be available to book across the UK assuming that there is sufficient lead time. We can always investigate availability further if required. In this case, please email me at comments@avis.co.uk with your rental pick up/return dates and the location from which you wish to rent.

I hope this helps, but if you have any other questions please let me know

Just to add my two cents…

John, the Ford Mondeo and the Vectra (now Insignia) are both large family cars, in fact the Mondeo is a far bigger car than the Opel/Vauxhall.

Jane, I think you meant Vauxhall Insignia, not Ford Insignia… ;-)

    Hi,

What a great surprise to find the BM 1 series on the Select fleet! and it’s the M Sport as well! :-)

I think the above fleet list could do with an update though…

    Cheers

    Robert

  51. Vicki Wilson - Marketing, Avis UK Says:

    Hi John,

Thank you for your comment and for pointing this out to us. Plus I am very sorry about the delayed response.

We have spoken to our web team in America and they are updating the UK fleet that they are promoting to match that of the UK website. This is not exactly the same as we are both bound by country fleet regulations, which means we have different category requirements. In the UK we have to follow ‘The Association of Car Rental Industry System Standards’ (ACRISS) car classification codes, but in America there is a different governing body that has slightly different fleet specification – this means our websites will not line up 100%.

I hope this helps, but if you have any other questions please let me know.

    Vicki

  52. Jane Hulme - Avis UK Says:

    Hi Robert,

We are excited to have the BMW 1 series on fleet as well.

We are currently working on an updated fleet list and will get this up as soon as it is completed.

  53. Ryan Says:

    Hi Robert,

I am looking to rent a Select Series BMW 5 Series in June 2010. Can I find out if they have been updated to the new model “F10″? Or are the 5 Series with Avis the older “E60″ model?

    Thanks.
    ryan

  54. Harleen Bahra - Fleet, Avis UK Says:

    Hi Ryan

The 5 Series Select vehicles will be the Model Group E60 and Model Code NX32. In other words, a 2009 shape 2.0 520D SE AUTO.

I hope this helps, but if you have any other questions please let me know.

    Harleen.

  55. stuart Says:

If choosing the Large Category – i.e. Mercedes C180 or similar at time of booking, will i be assured of a Mercedes C180… or have to take whatever else is in stock on that day? What if I only want the Merc which is why i would be paying the extra proces? Does Avis have BMWs based at LGW?

    Thanks

  56. Robert Says:

I’m pretty sure the only way to guarantee a specific model is to choose a “Select series” car which is the whole point of that Select series really.

In regard to other cars in the same group as the C180, the only other car I have ever had when booking that is the 3 series BMW (although this is also part of the select series), so not sure if there is anything else Avis currently have on their fleet in that in the “large premium” category.

  57. Desiree Says:

    Dear Stuart,

At Avis we are unable to guarantee a make and model for any reservation as this depends on availability on the day of pick up , nevertheless we can make a note for your preference.

The only way to guarantee make and model is to book through a Select Series office, like Robert suggested. Unfortunately we no longer have a select series office at Gatwick.

When booking a Large Premium vehicle, the type of cars available within that group are as follows:

    BMW 318 D
    Audi A4 1.8T
    Mercedes C180

When you make a reservation , make a note of your preference on the remarks field and the office will take this into account when they allocate your vehicle (this is subject to availability on the day).

Do not hesitate in contacting us if you need any further help.

    Many thanks.

    Desiree

  58. Robert Says:

Probably belongs in one of the very many ‘Select series’ thread/posts, but when did you guys sneak in the Peugeot RCZ into the ‘Select series’? and why didn’t you shout about it a little over here? :)

  59. Vicki - Marketing, Avis UK Says:

    Hi Robert,

    Thanks for your comment.

We only got the RCZ on fleet at the end of last week and we are in the process of writing a review for the blog – but if you are renting it any time soon we would lover your comments and feedback as well.

    Vicki

  60. Rob White- Marketing, Avis UK Says:

Hi Robert, long time! Blame me for this one. Vicki asked me to write a blog post but I just haven’t got round to it yet. Today is the first day the RCZ is available for pick-ups and it is the first in hopefully a range of new, more exciting cars on Select. We’ve also just added the Alfa Mito for the month of February only.

I’ll keep you posted (and look out for that blog post!).

    Rob

  61. Robert Says:

    Sounds great Rob!

Can’t wait to see what else you have instore for us and in the meantime I have every intention of trying out both the RCZ and the Mito, so I’ll report back once I have!

What’s the reason behind offering the Mito for one month only by the way?

Does it then move onto the Avis Prestige fleet?

  62. Rob White- Marketing, Avis UK Says:

Excellent, looking forward to the report!

The reason why the Mito is only on for a short period is that we have another car coming on to Select Series at the end of the month of a similar size. We do not want to overload Select Series with too many cars of the same size otherwise we could end up with too many cars that we are unable to rent!

  63. Robert Says:

So the DS3 is the “other” car then… :-)
Nice one! Have to say I thought they were very cool when I saw them at the Geneva motor show last year .

Booked the Mito and was pleasantly surprised to find a Giulietta waiting for me instead! Got a few more days with it but will report back once I’m done…

Next in line are the RCZ and now I guess I’ll have to try the DS3 as well.

You guys are costing me a fortune! ;-)

  64. Vicki Wilson - Marketing, Avis UK Says:

    Hi Robert,

Yes the RCZ is ‘the other’ car that Rob was talking about.

We are very excited to have this on fleet and cannot wait to get our customers feedback on ALL of our new cars :)

I look forward to hearing about your views on the Giulietta as well as the RCZ.

    Vicki

  65. Robert Says:

    Hi Vicki,

I think Rob was actually talking about the DS3 when he said the Mito will move off the fleet at the end of Feb to make way to another car of a similar size… :-)

Promise to report back on all of them!

  66. Fred Flintstone Says:

    Hello lovies. I simply must…have
    the Mercedes C180.

  67. Rodger van Zyl - Marketing, Avis UK Says:

    Hello Fred,

The Mercedes C180 is a fantastic car to drive. If you’re a fan of Mercedes another great car is the E200 Blue Efficiency, it’s one car that ticks all the boxes for me. It’s available on our Select Series range, take a look.

    Regards,
    Rodger – Marketing

  68. Gary Says:

Trying to figure out a 7-seater MPV. What model versions of the S-Max, Galaxy and Zafira are carried by Avis? Carrying 6/7 means needing enough engine to not want to get out and push!

  69. Desiree - Reservations UK Says:

    Hello Gary,

When renting an MPV from Avis in the UK, you have two alternatives, you can go for a compact MPV (5+2)Group O or a full size MPV 7 seater Group L. find below the different make and model specifications for each group:

    Group O:
    Volkswagen Touran 2.0
    Renault Grand Scenic

    Group L:
    Kia Sedona 2.9
    Ford S-Max
    Volkswagen Sharan 1.9 TDI
    Peugeot 5008

    Regards,

    Desiree – Reservations UK
