After seeing Christmas decorations in the shops this weekend it hit me that there are only 10 weeks left until Christmas. If you need to hire a car over the Christmas period then I would highly recommend booking one as soon as possible. It is one of the busiest times of year and the cars generally sell out very quickly. Also, not only does it help make sure you get a car, but it also helps to ensure you get the best price!

    Hi, can you explain why its almost half the price to book through my local NZ portal for car hire at Heathrow in December than by using the co.uk portal. Am I missing charges that will be added when I arrive?

    Thanks for your advice to book early. Indeed, I would like very much to book an Avis car in the UK over the Xmas period and I have been trying unsuccessfully to do so for over a week now. Why do you make it so difficult?

    Your 0844 numbers are inaccessible from abroad (I am currently in Africa) and I cannot find a number for international callers on your website. I have filled in FIVE email forms on your website to request assistance and have not had a single reply, including one on avis.com in desperation. And your booking system online won’t accept bookings over 28 days so I have to phone.. which brings me back to the beginning again. If you could help that would be nice :-) And might just result in another booking for you. Thanks.
