Avis car rental in London and help with the Congestion Charge.

Avis has 13 different pick-up locations in central London and 5 airport locations. Take a look at all our London car hire locations for details and quotes.

We will be happy to arrange a permit for the first day of your rental and add this to your rental charges. However, you’ll need to organise Congestion Charge payments for subsequent days.

If you have arranged for an Avis rental car to be delivered or collected and we have to drive through to congestion zone to get to you, you will still be liable to pay the Congestion Charge. Similarly, if we attempt to deliver but are unable to, the same rule applies.

Paying the charge

The charge is between £9 and £12 per day depending on how and when you pay the charge. You only need to pay once for a single day no matter how many times you use the Congestion Charge zone during that day.

You can either pay in advance or on the day of travel. If you don’t pay by midnight on the day after you drove in the Congestion Charge zone, you’ll receive a Penalty Charge Notice.

You can pay in a variety of ways:

CC Auto Pay
Online
By mobile (SMS)
By phone
By Automated Telephone Service

Around Paris – The beautiful Ile de France

Despite what Parisians might think, there’s a whole world outside the city borders to explore in an Avis hire car. Central Paris is beautiful, but there you can easily see another side to it: the green forests where the French kings used to hunt, nearby Normandy, home to crêpes and cider and chic racing in Chantilly.

Test drive this two-day tour for the best of the Ile de France.

Pick up your Avis vehicle from our car hire location at Gare du Nord Paris if you arrive by Eurostar or at any of the Paris airports. Motor through the countryside to elegant Chantilly for a day at the races, then spend your winnings buying souvenir bottles of champagne to take home, in the cellars of Reims and the Marne Valley, within easy drive of the city. Feeling active? Try your hand at rock-climbing in the royal forest of Fontainebleau before taking country lanes to the village of Gallardon and a meal fit for a king. Wind up your motoring holiday with a stroll around the overwhelmingly grand palace of Versailles before heading back to the airport. Drop off your hire car in Paris at any of the airports or Eurostar terminal or check other locations for Avis Rent a Car in Paris

Why not share it with your partner and make this a romantic break for two?
