Stansted1At Avis, one of our customers has asked us for information on what they need to do to rent and collect a car with Avis at London Stansted Airport. We realised that if one of our customers is unsure then there must be others.

Paul Cadwell our Avis Station Leader at London Stansted Airport has written the post below on what you need to do to rent and collect a car from Avis London Stansted Airport.

If you are flying into London Stansted Airport and you wish to rent a car from Avis we are perfectly located for a quick get away, to continue with your journey.

To collect your rental car from Avis you should proceed to our Avis desk which is prominently and conveniently located directly opposite the international arrivals exit in the airport. The Avis area has four individual desks, to allow us to provide you with that extra personal service and we have also built a lower desk to enable us to comfortably serve our disabled customers.

Once you have collected your keys and paperwork our rental cars are located a short, 2 minute, undercover walk out of the airport and into the adjacent car park.

If you are a member of Avis Preferred and make your booking using your Avis Preferred number you can always collect your keys and paperwork directly in the car park as part of our 3 Minute Promise, saving you that little bit of precious time. This is one of the many advantages of joining Avis Preferred.

On behalf of myself and the team, we hope to see you at Avis Stansted soon.

We would love to know if you have any other feedback or questions for the team at Avis Stansted.

Our fleet team here at Avis have been feeling blue recently and I for one am glad as I can proudly say we have introduced the Mercedes-Benz E220 BlueEFFICIENCY model to our Select Series range of cars!

At Avis, we have always taken our environmental responsibilities seriously and are committed to measuring our impact on the environment and improving this situation. By introducing the Mercedes-Benz BlueEFFICIENCY models to our fleet we are actively taking steps to do this.

BlueEFFICIENCY technology is designed to help drivers lower the environmental impact of their cars through lower emissions – Mercedes’ longer term goal is to achieve emission-free driving. But the benefit is not only to the environment as the technology allows lower running costs (meaning more money left in your wallet) whilst maintaining the high level of performance we have come to expect.

I have to admit to being more familiar with some of the innovative changes within the BlueEFFICIENCY model and believe it will soon be standard in most new vehicles. Items such as the start/stop engine, low-rolling resistance tyres, improved aerodynamics and weight saving for example. Some of the other changes such as adaptive power steering that only activates when needed, optimised energy management for the cars auxiliary systems and longer gear ratios caught my eye in terms of what is also being done to provide cleaner more efficient motoring.

If you’d like to experience the Mercedes-Benz E220 BlueEFFICIENCY model and see how much more of the UK you could see from one tank, why not book one now and let us know your thoughts?! Don’t forget to read our eco driving tips to get further tips on reducing your emissions.

Open_Road_in_AutumnFor many parents, driving in the early autumn usually features large doses of the school run. If your kids started at a new school this September, this may have put even more pressure on the family car – and on you. Renting some different wheels from Avis can give everyone a break (including the car) and it could make you fall in love with driving again this October half term break.

Hiring a car is much simpler than taking the train or coach. Its also more comfortable, more convenient and infinitely more stylish. Renting a bigger car from the Avis Fleet lets the kids’ friends come along too, giving you more of a chance to relax as they can amuse themselves. You can also hire an Avis prestige car and really travel in style.

From the convenience of home delivery, to the essential extras like SatNav, child seats for the little ones and ways to help the grown ups share the drive, Avis tries harder to think of everyone. All you have to decide is where to go…

Halloween Happenings
There are a host of Halloween events up and down the country, offering spooky adventures, ghost trails and scary fun. Castles across Britain, from Carlisle Castle in Cumbria, to Blenheim Palace in Oxfordshire, to Powerham Castle in Devon, are just a few of the dozens of historic sites taking part. Halloween is also big news at the theme parks this half term, with Alton Towers and Chessington World of Adventures offering spooky rides. Hire a people carrier from Avis to fit everyone in and you’re sure to have an absolute scream!

Autumn Watch
Autumn is also a great time to see the spectacular colours as the leaves begin to change. Head for Scotland, the Lake District, the Yorkshire Dales or the Peak District for a glorious tour of the trees. It’s said to be a bumper year for blackberries too, so don’t forget to pack some tubs. If you hire a 4X4 from our Avis Prestige range, you don’t have to worry about your own car taking on the country tracks, plus you’ll have plenty of room for boots, packs and picnics. You don’t even have to wash it when you get home.

Visit the Emerald Isle
The Republic of Ireland is at its best in the autumn, as the Emerald Isle turns gold, red and browns. You can hire an Avis car with our continental cover and then hop on a ferry to enjoy the craic of some Celtic charm. Boats run from right along the west coast of Britain, from Troon in Scotland to Pembroke in South Wales.

A day at the races
The first day of Jump Racing at Ascot is on Saturday 30th October. It’s Family Day in the racing calendar with free admission for under 16s, free fairground rides and an impressive fireworks display in the evening. The first race starts at 12.35pm; fireworks begin at 6pm.

These are just a few of our suggestions of what to do this Autumn and Half Term, but why not tell us what your plans are.
